Okay okay, this is only fair. I bagged on Jose’s disdain for the Power Rangers trailer…it’s only fair I do this. Okay, here goes:

What the Power Rangers trailer did to Cousin Jose, THIS trailer did to me twice and didn’t call me afterward to at least apologize! As a youngster, there were three TV shows that were Holy Writ for me: Starsky and Hutch, Tom & Jerry, and CHIPs. The remake of the first was not completely terrible, and the second has been bent over and spit roasted so many times it practically smells like rotisserie chicken mixed with bad porn.
This trailer officially destroys the third.
In this movie, Frank Poncherello (Michael Peña) is an FBI agent going undercover as a California Highway Patrol officer in an attempt to uncover some crooked cops. He is paired up with Jon Baker (Dax Shepard), a rookie cop. It is there that the dick jokes start to fly. That’s when my childhood begins to cry.
CHIPs will officially release on March 24th. I will hit the Prozac hard in anticipation.
