Major Nelson has announced another batch of Xbox 360 games that, starting from now, are playable on Xbox One thanks to backward compatibility. One of them is The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, which is also is a free download for everyone with Xbox Live Gold until February 5. A good opportunity to get your Witcher fix waiting for the Blood & Wine expansion to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which accordning to CD Projekt Red will be even better than the main adventure.
Here’s the full list of backward compatible titles:
• Aegis Wing
• Age of Booty
• Counter-Strike: GO
• Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad Arcade
• Sam & Max Save the World
• Skullgirls
• Small Arms
• Soulcalibur
• Space Giraffe
• The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
It seems like Microsoft has launched even more backward compatible titles though. According to several reports across social media and on forums, including photo evidence on Reddit, it is also possible to play Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on Xbox One now. A good way to get some practice waiting for Tekken 7 perhaps?!
There might be even more unannounced games that we don’t know about and it’s probably a sign that Microsoft will start releasing backwards compatible games when they become available instead of in groups from here on in.
