Sony has announced that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has sold more than 2.7 million copies globally in its first week of sale. This includes both physical and digital sales to customers.
Sony Computer Entertainment America marketing manager Asad Qizbash revealed the figure on the Playstation Blog, saying the game, developed by Naughty Dog, is “the fastest-selling PS4 first party title to-date” in the North American market.
Although the 2.7 million units figure is very impressive, the record for most first-week sales for an Uncharted game goes to Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, which sold 3.8 million units globally. Sony has previously stated that The Last of Us, another title developed for the PS3 by Naughty Dog, sold 6 million units, but did not disclose if that figure represented sales to customers or units sent to retailers.
In addition to being the fastest-selling North American PS4 title, sales monitoring company Chart-Track points out that in the UK, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was “by far the most successful launch in the series.”
