Battlefield 1 Collector’s Edition Announced for $129.99 – Game Not Included!

battlefield 1

In one of the stranger ideas to ever escape the minds of mortal man, a Collector’s Edition of Battlefield 1 is available to pre-order. It includes a 14” statue, a steel book case, a cloth poster, a deck of cards, a messenger pigeon tube that holds codes for DLC content, and a patch. But no game.

Yes, I wrote no game. It is an Amazon exclusive bundle and costs $129.99 ($103.99 with Prime). But the game is not included.

The only reason I could think of for the existence of this bundle is if someone bought a digital download of the game but still wanted the tat. That would make some sense. But why pre-order it? It may make sense to someone else, but I’m having a hard time swallowing it.

For those looking for the full Collector’s Edition package on Amazon, it is available for pre-order for $189.99 ($151.99 with Prime). There is also a Deluxe version available for $219.99 ($175.99 with Prime). The Deluxe version adds a couple DLC packs containing themed weapons and vehicles, as well as five Battlepacks.

Battlefield 1 releases on October 21st for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. If you are an EA or Origin access subscriber, or if you buy a Deluxe version of the game, you can start playing on October 18th.
