Doom Getting Deathmatch and Private Matches for Free

Ever since its release, Doom has been treating players to all the face-shooting, neck-breaking gore they can handle. Bethesda has also been showing love post-launch, with two free updates to the game. For Update #3, Doom plans to add Deathmatch and Private Matches for free as well.

Deathmatch is a return to the fragfests of old. It’s everyone for his or her self; no cooperation or teamwork here. Private Matches allows a group of friends to set up a private match where they set all the time limit, score limit, and demon and power weapon toggles themselves. Best of all, it’s free from online griefers and people who just play way better than me.

Bethesda will run a livestream on September 13th at 11AM PST where they will demo these two new features, as well as an Arcade Mode, which is part of a future free update. The livestream will be on Xbox’s Twitch channel.

There is no date on when Free Update 3 will drop, but all hints point to the end of this month.

He also goes to bars with an NES controller hoping that entering the Konami code will give him thirty chances with the drunk chick at the bar. His interests include vodka, old-school games, women, vodka, and women gamers who drink vodka.
