Never forget Gordon.

Hey guys, doing a super quick review of an episode I didn’t see until nearly a week after it aired due to New York Comic Con!
There were highlights throughout “Dead Man Walking”, especially when Gail, while speaking fondly about Gordon (yep, that was it for Will Ferrell, which is genius) only to reveal he was actually a racist, rage-filled drunk with body odor issues. And Carol’s drawings of Tandy’s “death” were adorable, complete with her oh-so cinematic choice to get closer and close to his corpse.
Still, it was hard not to feel that the episode was inevitably leading to Tandy being let back in the group and everything pretty much returning to how it was in Season 1, albeit with a beautiful beach setting and a fancy Malibu house. And maybe that’s still the case, but in the meantime…
…Holy crap was Tandy bursting in to the house with a gun hysterical. Will Forte was amazing in that scene, as Tandy alternated between heartfelt apologies and declarations of friendship and screaming, “Hands where I can see them” and “Don’t be a hero!” to his terrified “friends.” It was a bit of a mini-sketch within the episode and it worked oh-so well. And it certainly, understandably, makes it much more difficult for Tandy to just re-join the group.
So why do they have stocks for a prisoner though? Did those belong to Gordon? Hmm…
The Last Man on Earth seems like it’s at its best when it’s changing and Tandy is roaming about and so it’s hard not to be wary now that the entire Season 1 gang is back together and there’s the potential to settle back into a groove. But “Dead Man Walking” made it clear Tandy won’t have an easy time getting back in everyone’s good graces – and really only has himself to blame after what he pulled with that gun. But man, was that an amazing scene, so let’s be thankful he did it.
