Ahead of the release of Overwatch, 2K Games released a press release outlining the company’s plans for the DLC for Gearbox’s Battleborn. Up first is a new hero, Alani, who will be available May 24th at 9am PDT for Digital Deluxe and Season Pass holders, and May 31st at 9am PDT officially. People who do not have the Season Pass or Digital Deluxe version can unlock Alani for 47,500 credits in-game.
As an additional perk for Digital Deluxe and Season Pass holders, they will release a Hero Key that allows them to instantly unlock any hero in Battleborn every time a new hero releases, even if the in-game requirements have not been satisfied. Further, if the requirement is satisfied for a hero unlocked with a Hero Key, the Hero Key is returned to the player for use.
As a thank you to PS4 players who participated in the Open Beta for Battleborn, they will receive a Hero Key to unlock Alani of the 24th or another hero, as well as the first DLC Pack Story Operation when it releases. If any of those Open Beta players purchased a Season Pass or the Digital Deluxe Edition, they will receive an additional Hero Key.
Finally, there is a Double XP event going on in Battleborn currently. From now until May 25th at 8am PDT, players get double Command Rank and Character Rank XP in all Story Mode missions and Multiplayer matches. Simply jump on the game for any platform and shoot some things in the face for the bonus XP!
