Ubisoft announced the next major expansion for The Crew at Gamescom. Titles Calling All Units, players will be able to tear through the streets as a cop or a street racer. According to Ubisoft, there will be a 12-mission story that introduces the police-versus-racer gameplay.
This is the second major expansion for The Crew. The first, Wild Run, released on November 17, 2015.
“In this always-on, all-terrain confrontation, each side will rely on a set of special abilities and a great variety of vehicles as they race across the US,” reads a line from the expansion’s description.
Players who choose to play as a cop can chase down racers and arrest them. Doing so earns them better vehicles, including and “indestructible SUV” and “legendary bikes.” They can also choose the life of a racer and attempt to evade the law. Doing so with cargo earns players “high rewards.” To aid escape, racers have special abilities like flashbangs and unlimited nitro.
Chases can be triggered anywhere in-game, and at any time. Ubisoft said that everyone can be a racer even without the expansion pack. Players who wish to be a cop, however, will need to purchase the expansion. All players will also have their level cap increased to 60. There has been no price set as of this writing.
The Crew: Calling All Units will come out on November 29th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. On that same day, Ubisoft will also release The Crew: Ultimate Edition. That title will include the base game, Wild Run, Calling All Units, and all Season Pass vehicles.
