E3 Impressions: God of War

E3 Impressions: God of War

Kratos is back and this time we are going with Norse Mythology. From the startup of the Sony E3 Conference, we hear a wonderful orchestra that resembled a lot to the old God of War days, but we haven’t seen a God of War game since Ascension. Seeing the startup of the demo, we are introduced to a young boy playing with his toys dressed Nordic style. He is then called in by a man, but this man’s voice sound familiar to me. Kratos steps out of the shadow and is seen to be an older Kratos that is rocking a wicked full beard.

The graphics from the demo looked beautiful, seeing the lighting effects and the weather effects play on the landscape looked amazing as it goes from winter snow to a dense wooded area to a cave. Kratos is teaching his son how to hunt but throughout the whole hunt they are being attacked on the way. It is shown that there might be some RPG elements within this version of the God of War game. Kratos no longer is using the Blades of Chaos as he is using an axe that looks like it has magical elements, could it be like Mjolnir?

Towards the end we see this is only the beginning as we see a dragon fly off from a mountainside and pass Kratos and his son. The demo was 10 minutes long and I want more. I am excited for this game and I want to dive deeper into the story that Santa Monica Studio will bring to us through Kratos.

Residential DC guy and horror movie junkie who loves to drink and game. Not much to say as I am the way I am. Will provide my opinion either on an article or when streaming with the DCN crew. I do read and follow Marvel but I follow DC more. Will do articles on the tv shows, movies and games for both Marvel and DC. Might even do some comics of the week also, but we shall see what happens. Welcome to Digital Crack Network, now cue the music!
