The official trailer for the latest entry in the Fast & the Furious series has released, and it’s…confusing?
With all the talk about family and loyalty, it’s quite the surprise when, after another over-the-top heist, Dominic Toretto (Vin “I am Groot” Deisel), turns on his family. Now he’s working for a woman named Cipher (Charlize Theron), he’s become a target. The rest of the gang team up with a shady group to stop Dom.
This franchise seems to be swallowing up every available big-name actor in Hollywood. The cast from part 7 returns and adds Theron, National Treause Kurt Russell, and even Dame Helen Mirren. What, Denzel Washington and Tommy Wiseau weren’t available?
This franchise sure has grown from its genesis as a simple street-racing flick. The stunts and effects are so insane, Michael Bay probably binge-watches the movies with the lights off and a bottle of Jergen’s lotion nearby. Over-the-top does not begin to describe the automotive carnage on display here, and this is just a trailer. Somewhere in the afterlife, Lee Iacocca is watching and weeping in horror.
