Final Fantasy XV hopefuls have been waiting ten years for the game to release. What’s two more months?
According to a Gamnesia report, Square Enix is pushing the release date of the game to November 29th. The report cites a source within GameStop management that they say has accurately leaked other stories. As further proof, Gamenesia posted an image showing instructions on how to apply a sticker with the new date to the promotional poster already in stores. The stickers were sent to stores, but as of this writing, the GameStop website still shows the original release date of September 30th.
The news will disappoint fans of the series. Final Fantasy XV, originally called Final Fantasy Versus XIII, received its first announcement announced in 2006. Originally one of three games, it went into development hell before undergoing the final name change in 2013.
Square Enix released two demos for Final Fantasy XV. The Platinum Demo released in March; Episode Duscae saw a September 2015 release. There is a mobile tie-in with Justice Monsters Five.
Whatever the eventual release date, final Fantasy XV will release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
