Last week’s reveal of the Nintendo Switch got tons of people lathered up. Many ended up with more questions than answers, but Nintendo is not talking…yet.
Both Nintendo of Japan and Nintendo of America have announced via Twitter that the next big reveal of the Switch will be on January 12th. The event will be livestreamed, and since both divisions of Nintendo made the announcement, it is expected that it will be livestreamed in multiple languages. The announcement also mentions a formal event taking place in Tokyo on the 14th and 15th of that month.
Since last week’s reveal, many outlets have reached out to Nintendo to get more details. Each request has been met with the same reply from Nintendo: “We will make additional announcements about the Nintendo Switch hardware later, before the launch of the product.”
In addition to information about the hardware itself, Nintendo mentioned in its announcements that there will more Switch software. There was no mention about release date, price, or launch lineup being revealed during the event.
Until then, the only information we will get about the Nintendo Switch will come from the usual sources: leaks and rumors. Fortunately, those sources have been (mostly) accurate with their tidbits.
