Rainbow Six Siege Playable for Free This Weekend on Xbox One

Rainbow Six Siege

This weekend, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to play Rainbow Six: Siege for free. The game will be available for free from Thursday to Sunday on the Xbox One.

Ubisoft’s multiplayer tactical shooter is receiving an expansion, titled Operation Skull Rain, on August 2nd. The expansion will be officially revealed during this weekend’s Xbox Pro League Season 2 tournament. Its included map will be available to all players immediately. The new Operators, however, will be initially exclusive to Season Pass holders. All players will be able to purchase the new Operators one week later with in-game currency.

This is not the first time Ubisoft has tried to drum up interest in Rainbow Six: Siege. Last month, they released a Starter Edition for $15. It included all the maps, modes, and weapons of the base game, but less Operators. Unfortunately, that version was available until July 19th.

Rainbow Six: Siege will be available for free on Xbox One starting Thursday at 9 AM PT.
