Am I one of the few who is actually kind of tired of the Resident Evil movie franchise?
When I was informed that a new Resident Evil movie was coming out my first thought was, “Why??!!” Why do we need another Resident Evil movie? I saw up to Resident Evil 3 and I was already done with the franchise. Now seeing the trailer, I still feel the same way; there is no reason for this movie to exist.
Don’t get me wrong. Playing Paradise City by Guns N’ Roses with the apocalyptic view of Raccoon City in the background was a smart choice. For the franchise to go back to Raccoon City and the Umbrella Corp Hive from the first movie seems like a smart thing to do. The Red Queen is back and there is a crap ton of zombies down there. The trailer didn’t really excite me at all, but the action does look good. Alice is back in the mix to fight the undead, with help from old friends and some unlikely allies. So who’s ready for more zombies and mutated creatures and…I think I saw a flying demonic-zombie creature!
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter has a release date of January 27, 2017 and is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. It stars Milla Jovovich, Ruby Rose, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts and William Levy.
