Second Look at Prey During QuakeCon

Prey was announced by Bethesda during the last E3. At the time, many wondered if it would be a successor to the 2006 title or a reboot. The trailer shown then didn’t really answer anything. During QuakeCon, Bethesda showed off a second trailer of the game, and we seem no closer to an answer.

This trailer seems to be more exposition, but there is a bit of gameplay. We get a good look at some of the enemies, and the shadow monsters look pretty formidable. There is a small bit of combat shown as well. Overall, everything save the exposition was doled out in small bites.

Two looks in, and we still can’t figure out what this game is supposed to be. One thing’s for sure: it has nothing to do with the original game. The game is set for release in 2017, so there’s still time for Bethesda to clue everyone in. Until then, I don’t see why the Prey name was dredged up at all.
