Special Gold Nintendo Famicom Classic Edition Gets Trailer Showing its Manga Games

Nintendo’s gold Famicom Classic Edition will be chock full of manga and anime games, and it just got its own trailer showing it in action.

To celebrate this legacy embodied by the 50th anniversary of the popular “brick-sized” manga magazine Shonen Jump, Nintendo is releasing the Classic Mini Famicom Weekly Shonen Jump 50th Anniversary Edition, which is basically the local version (which looks much better) of the NES Classic Edition, in a new gold and red livery.

One of the most relevant elements is that it’ll have a new lineup of games starting with a celebration of Akira Toriyama with the first Dragon Quest and multiple Dragon Ball games, a couple of Hokuto No Ken titles, then delving into slightly more obscure manga and anime series like Saint Seiya, Captain Tsubasa, Rokudenashi Blues, and several more.

Basically, it’s the wet dream of every old-school players!

Unfortunately, it’s extremely unlikely that this will ever be released in the west, but it’ll launch in Japan on July 6th for 7,980 plus taxes that’s 72.82 in the US
