Review:

First let’s start this review properly: FUCK the Rotten Tomatoes score and all the reviewers who help make to the score! I went to see Suicide Squad and the only thing I can say is: DC you finally did something right.

This movie starts off after Superman’s death with the government wanting to find a replacement for Superman but also make sure they can control these meta-humans. So what’s the best way to doing this? With criminals!

We then switch to seeing a brief backstory of some of these villains, beginning with Deadshot doing what he does best and getting paid. But behind the mask is a father who’s trying to do everything possible to be with his daughter and get her out of the hood. She knows what he does for a living, though, and lets him know during a brief cameo from Batman (Ben Affleck).

Harley Quinn was a therapist in Arkham until she met her “Puddin’”, the Joker. He pretty much had her bring in some guns to break him free and be together. Their escape features another brief cameo from Batman. Captain Boomerang was a thief and won’t work well with others. He is stopped thanks to a surprise cameo from the Flash (Ezra Miller). June Moone was hiking, made a wrong move and discovers a tomb where she found and uncovered Enchantress. Enchantress took over June’s body and became one with her. She has some amazing powers. Diablo has the power to throw fire and do other things with fire but let me warn you, you don’t want to piss this guy off. His story is pretty tragic, and he vowed to never do bad or use his powers for fighting. Killer Croc doesn’t really have a back story of how he became what he is, but we just know that he’s big, mean, and a beast!

Once the government gets their meta-humans, named Task Force X, they inject them with a device that is controlled with an app. If they make one wrong move, they will pretty much have their heads blown off. At the same time, a force of nature is pretty much about to take over the world. The government gets their meta-humans and sets them up for the fight of their lives. We get to see what they are made of and why no one should mess with them. While all this is happening, Joker is going crazy trying to find out how to get his Harley back in his arms.

For my review of Suicide Squad, I’m going to let you know there are some good twists. Also, stay for the credits, there is a mid-roll scene. Right after that, you can leave.

This movie was so much fun and enjoyable to watch. I don’t advise kids watch this movie due to some heavy content, just but it’s up to you. The acting was just spot on with these villains, but I felt like this was more a redemption movie for our villains so they can clear their names. Well, correction, some of the villains; the others are just nuts!

Suicide Squad was an easy movie to follow and a good story. The only flaw I felt was there was not enough backstory for the villains, as some of them did not really went into detail. We don’t know why they went to a life of crime like Deadshot or Harley. Also, the relationship between Harley and Joker was a real love story here, but in the comics and TV show Joker would treat her like pure shit and she would keep running back to him. Here this felt like a Bonnie and Clyde type of thing where they would kill or die together. I’m not saying it’s bad but it just felt off. Then again, this could be a different DC universe. It also felt like this movie was like the Guardians of the Galaxy style movie where the bad guys had to work together and become heroes. But again I loved it.

I recommend going see Suicide Squad. If you disagree with this, I would love to read your comments about the movie. Try not to be rude. I want you all to let me know if I missed something or even teach me something about this movie I might have missed.

Good: Easy to follow; great story; well-done characters; great action

Bad: Not enough backstory for everyone; Joker and Harley relationship felt off

Verdict: 8 out of 10
