For those of you waiting impatiently for a Titanfall 2 beta test, mark Friday the 19th on your calendar. There will be an “open multiplayer technical test” for the game this weekend and next. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will be able to participate in the test, which will focus on two different multiplayer modes and maps.
Bounty Hunt is the first mode being teste. It’s a 5v5 mode, and teams will fight against each other and the Remnant fleet. The other mode is Pilots vs Pilots, and it is an 8v8 fight that claims to put “combat and mobility skills to the ultimate test.” Both modes will be played on two maps. The first is Boomtown, a secret IMC facility with peaked roofs that pilots can use as cover. The second is Homestead, a natural landscape of rocks and a river.
The following week will see the addition of one mode and map. The mode is Amped Hardpoint, a 6v6 take on the first game’s Hardpoint Domination. Teams will work together to capture and defend Hardpoints like before, but players here will get double points the longer you defend a Hardpoint. The map is Forward Base Kodai, an IMC substation that’s taken over by militia forces. This map will have plenty of hallways and chambers for Pilots to hide from other Titans.
Titanfall 2 is highly anticipated here at Digital Crack. First chance on Friday, we’re putting the game through its paces. I, of course, will reprise my role as team killer. The game will officially release on October 28th.
