I guess the following little anecdote can best explain my feelings for the game For Honor: When Ubisoft announced the game’s closed alpha, I signed up immediately. For Honor is one of the games I saw at E3 that really interested me, and I wanted to take it for a spin. Of course, since I am older than video games, I promptly forgot about it and went on with my life. Last Friday, I received an email...[Read More]
Well, there goes my Christmas. A post on Ubisoft’s blog reports that South Park The Fractured But Whole will be delayed to Q1 2017. It was originally scheduled to be released on December 6th. The post explains that delay is needed because “the development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal.&...[Read More]

Remember what I said last time about actively avoiding a game? Well, I avoided The Order 1886 purely based on word of mouth. Friends warned me that the game was a short, unsatisfying mess. So I stayed away. What changed and made me want to try this game? Probably morbid curiosity, but a part of me wanted to give the game a chance. I’ve liked playing games that others didn’t, most recently LittleBi...[Read More]

Ever since its release, Doom has been treating players to all the face-shooting, neck-breaking gore they can handle. Bethesda has also been showing love post-launch, with two free updates to the game. For Update #3, Doom plans to add Deathmatch and Private Matches for free as well. Deathmatch is a return to the fragfests of old. It’s everyone for his or her self; no cooperation or teamwork here. P...[Read More]
According to PlayStation head Andrew House, the PlayStation 4 Pro will not have a 4K Blu-Ray player because of a lack of consumer demand. House explained Sony’s thinking to the Guardian in an interview. “Our feeling is that while physical media continues to be a big part of the games business, we see a trend on video towards streaming,” House said. “Certainly with our user base, ...[Read More]
Back on May 31st of this year, Bethesda delivered mods for Fallout 4 on the Xbox One. The goal was to offer mods for it and, afterward, the upcoming The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim remaster on both Xbox One and PS4. This was a move that console gamers very happy. However, it now seems PS4 owners will be left in the lurch. Bethesda posted an update on their website today that says Sony won’t allow them...[Read More]
UPDATE: After publishing the article, I was pointed to a PushSquare article by Facebook group The Geek Fam debunking the report. The article noted a NeoGAF post where Absinthe Games founder Jack Sipich flatly stated that developers “are not allowed to charge you for patches or pro feature updates.” Polygon followed up with a statement by Sony stating that the company “will not ch...[Read More]
